What Makes A Religion - 946 Words

As humans, we are all connected. While each living being holds a certain amount of unique qualities, at the core, we are the same. What makes us so similar? Is it that rhythm in our chest? Is it out compassion and love for one another? Is it the desire to create art and feel inspiration? I believe religion is the key to all of these. Even if one don’t follow a religion, they can still admit that there is something spiritual about the likeness of each living, individual soul. Like humans, religions are also vastly similar at their core. Yes, they have many many different qualities and beliefs, but what you look at them from a wider lense, you can see they all have similar goals and undeniable comparisons. Through this class, I noticed a universal similarity of all of these religions: the belief that there is something more. While, yes, this may seem obvious, there are so many people on this planet connected to something higher than I feel I have ever been able to understand. Wh ile I was learning about all of the different qualities in the major and some minor religions around the world, I also discovered the core of these religions, spirituality, belief of a higher being or beings in power, and the connection people have with these to improve their lives. This course focused greatly on the essence of each religion in order to truly uncover what it is about. Every answer each professor, specialist, persist, or follower gave had to do with spirituality.
